Probably tore my calf muscle tonight at bootcamp. In a lot of fucking pain. Won't be doing any writing tonight. Probably doctor tomoorrow if it doesn't get any better. Will keep y'all posted. Sorry for the big wait.

I don't get it. You don't type with your calf, do you?

DO YOU???

Kidding. :)

That sounds mega-painful. That's a pretty thick muscle to tear.

Yeah, it was pretty nasty. The night it happened, my foot couldn't move at all without it feeling like lightning striking my calf. I almost fell a few times just from buckling from the pain. I took Friday off to rest it and ice it, and it seems to have helped a lot.

I can actually move today without screaming in pain, so I'm going to get back to writing this afternoon. Brawl's about half done, and the last half always seems to go faster than the first. Hopefully I'll knock this out soon. Thanks for your patience.

Hey folks,

Just wanted to provide an update. I'm hoping to get this match done by Saturday. Sorry for the long wait - I used to be able to write this thing in a little over a week, but it's been very busy lately and I'm having trouble finding time to write.

Again, apologies for the delay, but we'll get this thing cranked out.

Jarret

Fuck... so I'm planning on wrapping up tomorrow, but the wife has invited friends over, so now I have to clean the damned house all day and cook supper. So... Brawl will have to wait until Sunday.

Jesus....

torn calf, burnt hands in an accident??

God man, maybe you need to lock yourself in a room with no windows or pointy objects for a while - just to be safe. :)

Seriously - hope you're alright.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Accident probably made it sound a little more horrific than it actually was, but that was the best word I could come up with at the time.

We had a couple of friends over for dinner Saturday night, and I made a wicked chicken parmigiana. Took it out of the oven, and started plating the food. Then I needed to move the dish, and I just grabbed it without thinking - or putting oven mitts on. The dish was 450 degrees.

I finally took the bandages off this morning, so I can actually type now. Hands/fingers are still a bit tender, but thankfully there's no lasting damage. I'll likely get back to working on the Brawl tonight.

Sorry for all the delays, folks. I feel bad about it, since I know I made a huge rant about us getting results done on time, and now I'm the one causing all the delays, but hopefully I can go a few days without sustaining some kind of serious injury, lol.

Just an update so you know how things are going...

I've got one person left to bring into the ring, and then the eliminations (or remaining eliminations) will begin. These are normally quick and happen fast, so I'm getting into the home stretch. Shouldn't be long now, folks.

Two months? Sheesh, Tommy... I know I'm taking a while, but don't make it sound any worse than it is. ;) You're only about a month off. ;)

Making great progress today.

Only the top six left so far to eliminate and do the Cell bit.

Stats on the match writing so far:

- writing it in Notepad, but it equals 50 pages in Word so far
- just under 14,500 words
- almost 1,000 paragraphs
- just over 85,500 characters

It's a monster!
